How is packaged bank account mis-sold?
A packaged bank account can be mis-sold in many ways, for example:
- Persuaded by an advisor
- Upgraded without your knowledge or consent
- Not asked if you already had similar insurance cover
- Told you had to take this account in order to have an Overdraft/Loan/Credit Card
Can i claim back the fees for a packaged bank account?
Yes if your circumstances are similar to the above points. You maybe eligible to claim back the total fees paid, gross interest at 8% plus a distress and inconvenience charge.
What are the timescales to process my claim?
Once a complaint is issued to the bank, it can take up to 8 weeks to reach a final decision. If you are then still dissatisfied and the final decision was issued within 6 weeks you can send the complaint to the financial Ombudsman.
